Today, Mr. Ken Onditi, MBS KenOnditi1 KNCCI’s National Director was at the “Ni Sare Kabisa” Campaign Launch courtesy of Imbankke.
This is a proposition that waives bank-to-mobile money charges. The initiative celebrates its 1-year anniversary and aims to reduce costs for businesses that heavily rely on mobile money transactions, which make up 76.4% of MSMEs’ transactions.
This campaign aligns with KNCCI’s efforts to promote economic empowerment and growth for MSMEs across Kenya. MSMEs with I&M Bank accounts gain access to various financial services like unsecured personal loans, short-term loans, and certificate search fee waivers. Mr. Onditi noted that the βNI SARE KABISAβ campaign is a beacon of hope for small business owners. By waiving bank-to-mobile money charges, this initiative leads to cost reductions over time, providing much-needed relief to our MSMEs.
Mr. Onditi noted that:
KNCCI has expanded its global presence with new offices in China and plans for more in Dubai, Sharjah and Washington DC.
KNCCI actively engages with policymakers to advocate for favorable MSME policies, addressing issues like high taxation and business costs.
The Chamber facilitates trade with e-Certificates of Origin.
KNCCI offers financial support through the Jiinue Growth Program, benefiting over 11,000 MSMEs with training and affordable loans.
KNCCI promotes capacity building with a $40M empowerment program for women in industrialization and supports digitalization through the iSOKO User e-commerce platform, which boasts 7,700 registered businesses in East Africa.
