𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐚, 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐓 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐊𝐓𝐑𝐇
The county administration has received a major boost through a development partnership with the Israeli government with focus on enhancing health services and access to water for the local residents.
Tuesday morning, Governor George Natembeya received the Israel Ambassador to Kenya Michael Lotem whom he held extensive talks with on matters partnerships in efforts to improve the livelihoods of communities in Trans Nzoia.
The county boss then led the delegation to the Wamalwa Kijana Teaching and Referral Hospital where together with the Ambassador launched a new CT Scan machine courtesy of Elmed, an Israeli based Health Solutions provider.
“We will go extra miles to ensure that our people get the best services and this is why we are working with like-minded people and organizations to achieve our goal of improving livelihoods,” said Natembeya after the launch.
On his part, the Israeli diplomat hailed the governor for making Trans Nzoia to be the first to reach the 22nd century in terms of service provision adding that with the new CT-Scan machine, the hospital has the capacity to offer services provided in other mega health facilities.
“You have made this county be among the first to reach the twenty second millennium with the enhancing of health service provision,” said the diplomat.
The governor also opened a new maternity wing at the facility which is expected to help in curbing mother and child mortality by ensuring essential services are provided to expectant mothers and their newborns.
US Aid Ampath also donated 30 modern delivery beds worth approximately Kes 50 million that will ease as well as make comfortable the child delivery experience for expectant mothers.
The governor was accompanied by County Executives Sam Ojwang (Health), Pepela Wanjala (Water and Environment), Chief Officers Dr. Judith Simiyu (Health) and her Water and Environment counterpart Dorothy Nyukuri.
