𝐋𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝐏𝐋𝐖𝐃𝐬, 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬
Governor Kenneth Lusaka has announced provision of free medical services for persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) in all public health facilities across the county.
The Governor made the announcement during the International Day of Persons with Disabilities commemoration held at Uwanja Ndege Grounds and graced by the Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua .
In a bid to enhance the welfare of PLWDs, Governor Lusaka donated 100 wheelchairs to beneficiaries across the county and game kits to teams that represented Bungoma in the recent Paralympic Games.
“Our commitment to empowering persons with disabilities remains unwavering. By next week, the disability policy, which is at its final stage, will be assented into law to ensure the disability agenda is fully mainstreamed,” said Governor Lusaka.
