The Bungoma County government and the Ministry of Sports, spearheaded by Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba and Governor Kenneth Lusaka, have reached an agreement on transforming the Masinde Muliro Stadium into a facility of international caliber.

This collaborative effort will see modifications to the ongoing construction project, propelling the stadium towards global standards.

Among the key changes agreed upon include revamping the Main Dais.

The existing platform will beredesigned,encompasing both the VIP podium and improved changing rooms, ensuring enhanced functionality and comfort.

Construction of the 20,000-seater terraces and a dedicated parking lot will be spearheaded by Sports Kenya in a designated Phase 2.

The county governmentwillfocusoncompleting the main dais and pitch to meet the requisite international standards, while Sports Kenya will oversee the remaining construction phases.

The revised construction plan promises a modern and well-equipped stadium, primed to cater to diverse sporting needs and offer a world-class experience for athletes and spectators alike.
