Northrift Leaders Want IG Mutyambai to Enhance DP Ruto’s Security

Politicians Allied to the deputy president Dr.William Ruto in The North Rift Region have called upon the inspector general of police Hillary Mutyambai to enhance security afforded to the deputy president in his political campaigns across the country.

Speaking during the funeral of the gubernatorial aspirant Jonathan Bii’s father , the leaders led by Uasingishu governor Jackson Mandago and Soy member of parliament Caleb kositany described the recent spate of attacks witnessed in dps political rallies in jacaranda nairobi, kondele Kisumu and in Nyeri town are as a result of failure by Mutyambai to guarantee safety to all politicians vying in August general election.

“We have seen a particular trend of attacks in some of the deputy president’s political rallies , we want to inform the inspector general of police if this country will head into a political turmoil because of his failures he will be held personally responsible” said Governor Mandago.

The leaders did not either spare the Uasingishu County commissioner stephen kihara who in the recent past has come under attacks from Mps allied to the deputy president and whom they accuse of inctimements” We are warning the uasin gishu county Commissioner, we know he has been having secret meetings we have written to the ICC just in case he feels that he can threaten the peace and cohesion of the our communities,we are warning him that he will be accountable for any chaos and violence that might occur in the county,”Said Soy Mp Kositany.

The Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago,has also called upon government officials to desist from inciting people especially those from Rift Valley region.

“We as leaders from this country we will not allow anyone to disrupt the peace that we are experiencing.We are ready to lose every nail but we cannot loose peace in this county.Not only this county but as a nation we cannot afford as a country that is progressive,that is democratic to go back to the past,”Governor Mandago promised.They further argued that the county has enjoyed peaceful election since 2013.

The leaders have also responded to the Cabinet Secretary for Interior ,Dr Fred Matiang’i remarks that politicians are interrupting with the civil servants duties,”We are representatives of the people ,you are employed also to work for Uasin Gishu people.We will not not be intimidated,and we will not fear anyone ,and we have a plan and a destiny for this nation,take your threats elsewhere,”The leaders affirmed.

Previously,the North Rift Bloc leaders under Governor Jackson Mandago,promised citizens, especially the Rift Valley residents, that the August 9th General Election will be peaceful.
