Bungoma Governor Wycliff Wangamati To defend His Seat on an Azimio La Umoja Party Ticket
Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati has ditched Moses Wentagula’s Ford Kenya party.
He says he will seek reelection using the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAPK) party the party is led by Wafula Wamunyinyi and Eseli Simiyu as the secretary-general.
“I want to announce here that in the forthcoming general elections I will be seeking reelection using the DAPK party, I have listened to the ground and that is what they want,” said Wangamati during the Transnzoia gubernatorial aspirant George Natembea while speaking to the press.
Wangamati was elected by the Ford Kenya party but thye have not been on good terms with the party leader Moses Wetangula
This comes weeks after Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula joined the UDA party
which is led by the deputy president William Ruto who has declared his interest in the presidency come 2022.
“I will be having a big meeting where I will be making my major announcement, I am welcoming all of you of Friday, this time around we will not allow Luhya community to be used by a few self-centered individuals to get to power,” added the Bungoma governor.
He further said that he is firmly behind the opposition leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in the 2022 general elections.
“I want to say without fear of contradiction that in the forthcoming election my preferred presidential candidate will be none other than Raila Odinga who is the only leader who will transform the country,” he added.
He further warned Trans Nzoia residents against Ford Kenya’s party leader Moses Wetangula extortionist leadership.
“I blame Trans Nzoia’s under-development and the trouble in Bungoma on Weta’s insatiable greed and appetite for kickbacks,” he added.
