We Have Not Endorsed Former IG For Elgeyo Marakwet Gubernatorial Seat -Keiyo Elders
A section of Keiyo elders has refuted claims that they have not endorsed the former inspector general of police Joseph Boinnet as their preferred Elgeo Mrakwet gubernatorial aspirant.
Led by major John Seii they said that there was no public participation in the whole process.
This comes after Tourism CAS Joseph Boinnet resigned to vie for the Elgeyo Marakwet gubernatorial seat.
“We saw recently that there are some elders who have said as the Keiyo community we have endorsed Boinnet to vie for the Elgeyo Marakwet gubernatorial seat, this is a total lie since there was no public participation,” said Major John Seii while speaking to the press.
This comes after a section of Keiyo Elders while in a function in Eldoret town endorsed the former inspector general of police Joseph Boinnet as their preferred candidate to take over from thee incumbent Eng. Alex Tolgos.
Jackson Kiptanui, Hon Chepkitony, Elizabeth Keitany, and Moses Changwony stepped down in favor of Boinett while deputy governor Wesley who’s seen as the next governor did not attend the said meeting.
He said that public participation was not done thus the whole process was inconsequential.
“There was no participation from all the thee constituencies but that was just their own opinion, we want to say that public participation was supposed to be done from each constituency that is from Marakwet East, Keiyo South and Keiyo North but not what was done,” he added.
He further said that the leaders who did the process did not get the blessings from the Keiyo community.
“Who gave them the permission to conduct the same, the leader that thye have given us we don’t know him, his history, character among other, we must first integrate him before any pronunciation,” he added.
