Tot High School Students Attacked by Bandits

Students of Tot High School were attacked by bandits on their way from an academic trip.

According to Elgeyo Marakwet deputy governor, Wesly Rotich the incident to place at Chesuman.

“It’s sad that our children were attacked by bandits on their way from an academic trip this is uncalled for and the government should work at speed to arrest all those who were involved in the heinous acts,” said the Elgeyo Marakwet deputy governor.

The driver of the bus succumbed to the attack.

He reiterated that the bandits have called Elgeyo Marakwet their home while the government has stayed mum while the lives of residents have been lost.

“Why are we always having attacks from time to time, are we fewer Kenyans why is the government staying mum while many lives are being lost day in day out,” he added.

MTRH CEO Wilson Aruasa said students who were admitted to the hospital had chest injuries and are in stable condition.

“We have received students and I want to confirm that they are in not in critical conditions therefore no cause of alarm,” he said.

The Elgeiyo Marakwet deputy governor was accompanied by woman representative Chebaibai ,the member of Parliament Elgeiyo Marakwet West William Kisang.

Rotich urged the minister of security to act at spped to prevent loss of more innocent lives.

“The ministry of security headed by Fred Matiang’ had been promising to send tight security in the notorious county of Elgeiyo Marakwet which is known for banditry attacks till now nothing no action have been taken has also seen the government to bring the matter less serious when it comes to the killings the county as compared to the campaigns which they put much emphasis and into consideration,”Rotich said.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta should intervene to end this menace once and for all,” he said.
