2.6 Million Kenyans have now been vaccinated against coronavirus pandemic which has infected and claimed many lives.
According to the Cabinet secretary of Health Mutahi Kagwe the Country has sufficient doses for the same.
“As I am talking we have so far vaccinated over 2.6 million Kenyans and we have enough doses and soon we will vaccinate as many Kenyans as possible in the coming months,” Kagwe said while speaking to the press at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
He say they are now targeting those over 58 years.
“I want highlight that it’s a proven fact that vaccines are safe, I have already taken my two doses ,may be its the only reason I am still walking around, I want to urge each Kenyans above 58 years, frontline workers because then we can feel safe. Urging teaching fraternity make sure they have been vaccinated to make our children safe , if you are in that category please go for it,” he added.
He called on Kenyans not to relent in the fight against the deadly coronavirus.
“I want to urge Kenyans to continue following the directives by the Ministry of Health such as washing hands before and after every activity, avoid overcrowded places, ensure one meter social distancing rule and if possible stay at home to prevent further spread of the virus,” he added.
