Invest In Upcoming Townships- Mandago Urges Businessmen as he opened New Yako Supermarket Household branch


Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has urged both local and international investors to explore untapped opportunities in the upcoming townships.

“I urge all existing and potential investors locally and internationally to explore untapped opportunities in the upcoming townships within Uasin Gishu County. As we continue to better the business environment in our county, we would like to see all our towns grow,” Governor Mandago said.

He spoke Friday, in Eldoret, at Kenindia Plaza (Oginga Odinga street) during the official opening of a new Yako Supermarket store.

“We welcome you to invest in Moiben, Burnt Forest, Moi’s Bridge, and such other towns. These are strategic urban centers where my government is working closely with national government agencies to improve security and transport infrastructure”, Mandago added.

“More investors to our county mean more jobs to our people, I thank Yako Supermarket for expansion and creation of more jobs within the city, I urge the proprietors to consider selling goods produced by our local Jua Kali sector and farmers produce,” he added.

The Governor pledged county government incentives to those who will venture into these townships.

Mandago thanked the Yako Supermarket Franchise for creating jobs and also urged them to sell goods produced by the local Jua Kali sector and the farmers.

County Executive for Trade Dr. Emily Kogos took the opportunity to thank Eldoret Business community for compliance with government rates and taxes.

The Governor also took the opportunity to ask traders to continue enforcing COVID-19 prevention measures in the business premises.

The New Yako Supermarket Household Branch has taken up the space that had been vacated by Nakumatt supermarket a few years ago and later occupied by Krystal Matt who recently closed the branch.
In the new branch, New Yako Supermarket is offering a variety of unique services – an upgrade from the current branch, including taking away for fast foods, grocery, pharmacy, furniture’s, electronics, fast-moving consumer goods such as beverages, and one of its kind wines and spirits section.

“The wines and spirits section has stocked over 300 different types of wines from different countries, all arranged in a way that our customers can easily find their favorite variety,” said the New Yako Supermarket Household branch manager Stella Kung’u.
The new branch has offered over 80 direct jobs to the locals and will also benefit at least 50 local suppliers.

“We have the fairest prices when it becomes to pricing, all goods are available under one roof, we have a pharmacy, grocery, kitchenware all thee foodstuffs, furniture among others,” she said.

The supermarket is located next to Equity Bank, along Oginga Odinga Street.
