Governor Wycliffe Wangamati Mourns the Death of  Rev.  Father Christopher Wanyonyi

Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati has mourned the death of Rev.  Father Christopher Wanyonyi.
Speaking during  special Requiem mass at Christ the King catholic church, Bungoma.
Rev. Father Christopher Wanyonyi was a  priest and an Administrator of Christ the King Cathedral of Kenya’s Diocese of Bungoma, Wangamati described the deceased  as a committed and dedicated servant of God.
Wangamati recalled Father Wanyonyi’s as a hardworking, committed, dedicated servant of God, who championed for Education of our children.
Governor described the late Father as an icon, an astute Administrator and a firm leader who spoke truth to power.
“I will remember Fr. Wanyonyi as the firm man, who never hesitated to confront the ills in our society. Bungoma County has lost a great man”,  said Governor Wangamati.
The late Rev. Father Wanyonyi was ordained a Priest for the Diocese of Bungoma in 1991 after studying  Philosophy at St. Augustine’s Major Seminary, Mabanga in Bungoma Diocese and Theology at St. Thomas Aquinas National Major Seminary in Nairobi Archdiocese.
He was born in Sirare village, West Nalondo Ward, Kabuchai Sub County on 17 April 1958 – the son of the late Milimo Khatete and Magdalene Nakhungu.
Fr. Christopher Wanyonyi, 63, succumbed to COVID-19 related complications on Monday, August 9 while receiving treatment at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Eldoret. He will be laid to rest on Friday, August 13, 2021 in Kibabii.
