MANDAGO: 60 YOUTHS FROM UASIN GISHU TO TRAVEL TO FINLAND FROM SEPTEMBER
Governor Jackson Mandago EGH has revealed that at least 60 youths from across Uasin Gishu county will be traveling to Finland beginning next month for a number of job opportunities.
Mandago who has been in the European nation for an official tour says there are many opportunities that Kenyan youths can benefit from in the country.
Speaking during the interment ceremony of Agui Petero Kiptarus Butuk and Kogo Ruth Jelagat Butuk – parents to Kapkures ward MCA David Tams Butuk in Chekata village, the county boss said each ward will have two youths benefit.
“I have been to Finland looking for opportunities from our youths and the journey was good. I will come back so that we talk about those opportunities,” Mandago said.
“I went to Australia and when I came back I told you things are good there – today we have many of our youths in that country and many of you have seen the fruits. I’m now telling you that Finland is also a good place,” he added.
Mandago who is also the North Rift Economic Bloc (NOREB) chairman said Finland has a shortage in human resources which the region will be looking at ways in which they can have a government-to-government agreement for the youths to benefit.
He also reiterated the need for youths to take advantage of the government policy of sponsoring individuals joining technical training institutions which will enable them to acquire skills that will help them get jobs or be self-employed.
“As a County Government we will continue sponsoring students to join TTI’s and KMTC as we want our youths to be skilled,” Mandago said.
The Governor also said his administration will continue working with the Kapkures MCA and others to ensure all the projects initiated are completed on time.
He further thanked Kapkures locals, the Uasin Gishu County Assembly members, and all that worked tirelessly to help the MCA during the difficult time.
