Kakamega County Governor H.E Dr. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya Wednesday commissioned two markets; Bukura and Emanyulia Open Air Markets in Lurambi and Khwisero Sub-Counties respectively, constructed by the County Government of Kakamega.
The Governor called on the traders to maximise on existence of the facilities challenging them to operate on a 24 hour basis.
The markets that will henceforth be managed by the local community through a Market Committee are well equipped with ablution blocks, an office block and a restaurant among other amenities. The County has so far constructed 12 modern markets in each Sub-County and is in the process of
constructing 12 more.
In addition to the markets, Governor Oparanya also commissioned a County Government constructed Kilimo Girls Secondary School Dormitory Block in Butsotso South Ward.
