A section of Uasin Gishu Azimio la Umoja supporters has congratulated Raila Odinga for choosing Narc Kenya Party leader as his running mate.
Speaking to the press Uasin Gishu Jubilee party Chairman and also Langas Ward MCA Francis Muya said the move is welcomed and they will accord them their full support.
This comes after the opposition leader Raila Odinga on Monday announced Martha Karua as his running mate.
“As residents of Uasin Gishu, we are happy that our party leader Raila Odinga this time around choose a woman running mate which the country has never had. By choosing a woman shows his respect to women who are our mothers, wives, and our sisters,” said the Uasin Gishu Jubilee Party Chairman while speaking to the press.
They said they have faith in Odinga and Karua’s leadership since they will transform the Country.
“Raila together with Charles Rubia, Martha Karua, James Orengo who fought for multipartism and during the coalition government Odinga together with other leaders fought for the new constitution that Kenyans are enjoying,” he added.
They said they will campaign door to door to ensure that the Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate is in the forthcoming elections since he has what it takes to be the next president.
“We are firmly behind Raila Odinga together with Martha Karua, and from now we will move from door to door to ensure that Raila Odinga gets 200,000 in Uasin Gishu County compared to 2017 where he got 78,000. I am calling upon Kenyans from all divides to vote for him since he has what it takes to take the country to greater heights,” said Muya.
He says he will ensure that the Jubilee party will deliver more seats in Uasin Gishu which is perceived to be a UDA party zone.
“Many thought that Jubilee party was dead yet we were working for the electorates but we are now playing politics and we will ensure that we deliver over 5 MCA seats in Uasin Gishu,” he said.
