Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka oversaw the handing over of confirmation letters to 179 health workers one of his key pledges made during the campaigns.
Speaking at the Bungoma County Headquarters, Lusaka called on the health workers to execute their duties diligently assuring them the promotions would be regular moving forward.
“To our new health workers, we urge you to do your work professionally and diligently. I also want to assure you that moving forward, promotions will be regular,” assured Lusaka.
He also stated that the County Public Service Board would in the course of next week give promotion letters to health workers as well as advertise more vacancies for health personel.
The Governor further reiterated that the monthly stipend of the Community Health Workers will be increased from Ksh.2000 to Ksh. 4000 to boost their morale.
Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany, CECM Health and Sanitation Dr Andrew Wamalwa, Chief Officer Health Moses Sichei, Director Medical Services Dr Caleb Watta among others were present.
