The United Nations through Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has donated two farm tractors and assortment of farm implements to Bungoma Farmers to boost food production.
Flagging off the donation in Matili, Kimilili sub county, Deputy Governor Janipher Mbatianyi underscored high cooperation between Bungoma and FAO saying the donation of tractors will improve the scale of agricultural production in Bungoma.
“I appeal to farmers to take care of the farm machinery and put them into good use to achieve the desired goals and turn around your livelihoods,” added Mbatianyi
FAO Director, Carlva Mucavi said their mandate is to defeat hunger and malnutrition in Bungoma through food production and sustainable agricultural practices.
CECM for Agriculture Monica Fedha appreciated the efforts and support from FAO in boasting agriculture especially rural counties like Bungoma.
