Uasin Gishu county senator Jackson Mandago now says President William Ruto should not accept a handshake with the opposition leader Raila Odinga.

He said President Ruto was elected in broad daylight and won fairly against his competitor.
‘’ We will not allow handshake as the ruling party because we acquired the government through a general election constitutionally”, said Mandago.

Senator Mandago urged the deputy president to be alert on the opposition party not to enter the government through a handshake or any other way but to remain as the opposition to criticize the government activities.

“As the 2nd in command I urge him to remain firm and do not allow Azimio to enter the Kenya kwanza government as he did in the previous ruling party”, said Mandago.
However, the senator said the opposition party should give space to Ruto to deliver better services to her country and salvage the worsening economy.

“Azimio supporters give president Ruto space to deliver for his people by not wasting time and resources of Kenyan people”, said the Uasin Gishu senator.

The dialogue is to be done after the first attempt went in vain after the two parties disagree on the matters to be covered after the Azimio supporters went into protest on the cost of living.
