Kakamega Governor Dispatches Drugs Worth Sh 240 Million to Health Facilities

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa flagged off drugs, Non-pharmaceuticals and laboratory reagents valued at Ksh 240 Million to health facilities across the 12 Sub-Counties with an aim of enhancing access to health-care in Kakamega County in line with the Health pillar of the Governor’s Six Point Agenda.

Kakamega County General Hospital (CGH) will receive the largest consignment worth Ksh. 56 million, while other facilities will receive drugs and non-pharms ranging between Ksh 10 – 15 Million.

The County Government through the Department of ICT has set up an Automated drug issuance and inventory management system to guarantee security of the supplies.

The County will further procure and distribute a consignment of more drugs and non-pharms after three months.
