Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Is a specialized medical unit in hospitals equipped to provide intensive care to newborn babies, especially those born prematurely or with medical complications. The importance of NICUs lies in their ability to provide critical medical attention and specialized care to the most vulnerable infants.
Premature babies or those born with health issues often require immediate and specialized medical intervention, a gap that Chief Officer Health Facilities Geoffrey Mosiria under the directives of Governor Sakaja filled with the NICU.
The Chief Officer Health Facilities Geoffrey Mosiria commended the governor for his visionary projects aimed at enhancing healthcare services, highlighting collaborations that elevated medical technology and expanded facilities.
Expressing gratitude to partners and recognizing Mbagathi as a center of excellence, the Mr. Mosiria acknowledged the addition of modern equipment and the hospital’s elevation as the second to possess a cutting-edge Biochemistry Analyzer. The Safaricom Foundation’s support was also lauded for participating in healthcare advancements. In his address, Chief Officer Mosiria praised the governor’s commitment to developmental projects, citing the impact on healthcare, including the acclaimed Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital.
Deputy Governor Njoroge Muchiri “our administration is dedicated to fulfilling its promises, assuring utmost support for quality service delivery. You will see this and many other similar projects that are yet to be launched” he encouraged the public to continue supporting them and helping them to transform Nairobi.
