Cleophas Malala to Vie for Kakamega Gubernatorial Seat in 2027

Former UDA Secretary-General Cleophas Malala has announced his intention to run for the Kakamega County gubernatorial seat in the 2027 elections.

Malala, who lost to incumbent Governor Fernandez Barasa in 2022, expressed confidence in his ability to lead the county, promising improved governance and development.

"I have listened to the people and I am ready to serve Kakamega," Malala said, emphasizing his focus on infrastructure, healthcare, and education. His announcement sets the stage for a potential rematch with Governor Barasa, as Kakamega gears up for what is expected to be a competitive race.
