CS Murkomen Celebrates Christmas with Security Personnel in Kerio Valley

Today, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen visited several security camps in the Kerio Valley, including Kainuk, Ngaratuko, Tot, and Turkwel, to celebrate Christmas with officers stationed in the region. The visit served as a gesture of appreciation for the officers' dedication to ensuring peace and security, especially during the festive season when many are away from their families.

In his address, CS Murkomen commended the officers for their courage and commitment to their duties, recognizing their sacrifices in maintaining peace across the Kerio Valley. “A majority of our security personnel are spending Christmas and the festive season away from their loved ones, ensuring that our country remains safe and secure. This is a sacrifice that deserves our highest praise,” said Murkomen.

The Cabinet Secretary highlighted the critical role these officers play in the ongoing efforts to stabilize the region, particularly in areas that have historically faced security challenges. He assured them of the government’s full support, emphasizing that their work is essential in achieving lasting peace for the people of the region and the country at large.

Murkomen also took the opportunity to provide reassurance that the government would continue to provide the necessary resources and equipment to support the officers in their duties. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening security operations to ensure the safety of all Kenyans.

As the officers of Kerio Valley celebrated Christmas in the field, Murkomen expressed his gratitude for their unwavering patriotism. He urged them to remain steadfast in their mission, adding that the sacrifices they make would not go unnoticed.

“Today, we celebrate not just Christmas, but also the unyielding spirit of our security personnel who are working tirelessly to keep us safe. You are the true heroes of this season,” he said.

The visit ended with a warm exchange of holiday greetings, as the officers expressed their appreciation for the recognition and support from the government.
