Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued his series of consultations with key leaders from across the region, engaging with former Members of Parliament (MPs) and former Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) to discuss the way forward for the country as it heads into 2024.
The meetings, held over the festive season, have provided a platform for leaders to share their perspectives on the current political and social landscape, reflect on past challenges, and explore possible solutions for the future. Gachagua described these consultations as both insightful and educational, helping to clarify the road ahead for Kenya.
Among those Gachagua met were former MPs Hon. Peter Mwathi, Hon. Jude Njomo, Hon. Wainanina Jungle, Hon. Ngunjiri Wambugu, Hon. Gichuhi Mwangi, and Hon. Kabinga Wathayu. He also engaged with former MCAs, including Hon. Kuria Karema, Hon. Joseph Karichu, Hon. Ev Mercy Nungari, Hon. Muthoni Chikiru, Hon. Juliah Wanjiku, and Hon. Livingstone Waiganjo.
The consultations also included Kiambu leader Damaris Waiganjo and youth leaders Karanja Muchai, Theuri Wanjiru, and Peter Kinyanjui, all of whom offered valuable input on the issues affecting their communities and the broader national agenda.
Gachagua emphasized the significance of these discussions in understanding the country’s current situation and devising strategies for growth, unity, and progress as Kenya enters a new year.
“The feedback from these leaders has been instrumental in shaping our understanding of where we are, how we arrived here, and the options available to us as we look to 2024,” said Gachagua. “I remain committed to continuing these consultations and working together with all stakeholders for the betterment of our nation.”
The former deputy president’s meetings reflect his dedication to fostering dialogue, collaboration, and informed decision-making as Kenya moves into the new year.
