Bolt Driver Clears Name Amid False Allegations of Throwing Passenger Out of Car

A Bolt driver who was recently accused on social media of throwing a passenger, Dorcas Mwende, out of his moving car has come forward to share his side of the story, denying the allegations as entirely false.

According to the driver, the incident unfolded when Dorcas Mwende, allegedly intoxicated, requested a ride from Ruiru to Roysambu. She had hoped that a man accompanying her would cover the fare, but upon arrival, he was unreachable. Mwende then requested to be taken back home, assuring the driver that she would pay for the trip.

As they neared Clayworks, Mwende asked the driver to stop so she could relieve herself. After the car stopped, the driver claims she suddenly fled the scene, hopping onto a boda boda without paying the fare.

The driver promptly reported the incident to the police, detailing the events as they occurred. However, hours later, Dorcas Mwende accused the driver on social media of throwing her out of the moving vehicle—a claim the driver vehemently denies.

In a statement, the driver clarified that the accusation was both false and "practically impossible." He emphasized that the incident had been reported to the authorities immediately, and evidence was available to support his account. The driver also condemned the false statements, calling for an apology from Mwende, as well as a public acknowledgment of the harm caused to both him and the Bolt platform.

This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of verifying facts before making public accusations, particularly when they can have serious consequences for those involved. The driver has expressed his hope that the truth will prevail and that such defamatory actions will be addressed appropriately.
