Deputy Chief of Staff Leads Preparatory Meeting for Nyanza International Investment Conference

 



 Eliud Owalo, Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Performance and Delivery Management in the Executive Office of the President, today led a key working breakfast meeting between the Organizing Committee for the Nyanza International Investment Conference and the leadership of several professional groups in Kenya.

The meeting, which was held to align expectations and ensure smooth preparation for the conference, included prominent leaders from Kenya’s leading professional associations. Among those present were Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK); Florence Nyole, President of the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK); Shammah Kitemi, Chairman of the Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK); Mutinda Mutuku, Chairman of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK); and Dr. Joseph Aluoch, representing the Kenya Medical Association (KMA).

Owalo, who is responsible for overseeing the performance and delivery of government initiatives, emphasized the significance of professional groups in ensuring the success of the conference. He acknowledged the invaluable expertise these organizations bring in addressing key areas such as healthcare, infrastructure, and architecture.

“The Nyanza International Investment Conference presents a critical opportunity to showcase the region’s potential and attract investment that will stimulate economic growth and create jobs. Our collaboration with professional bodies is central to ensuring that this event addresses both the needs of the sector and the larger national development agenda,” Owalo stated after the meeting.

The conference, scheduled for later this year, will focus on attracting international investors, highlighting the abundant opportunities for growth in the Nyanza region. According to Owalo, the conference is a pivotal step in advancing Kenya’s broader development goals, and the involvement of professional organizations will ensure that it is a success.

Also present at the meeting were members of the Nyanza International Investment Conference Organizing Committee, including Chairman Japh Olende, Vice Chairman Michael Monari, Amb. Grace Okara, as well as key committee members such as lawyers Lilian Mahiri Zaja and Dr. Amos Omollo, Dr. Anyango Ochieng, Gabriel Chacha, and Ken.

Professional group leaders expressed their full commitment to supporting the event and assured the Organizing Committee that they would contribute their expertise to ensure the conference addresses pressing issues and promotes long-term, sustainable growth for the region.

Faith Odhiambo, President of LSK, reiterated the importance of such collaborations, adding, “The Nyanza International Investment Conference offers a chance for all sectors to come together and work towards a common goal of economic development.”
