Dr. Belio Kipsang, the Principal Secretary for Basic Education, officially opened newly constructed classrooms for Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) at Kwahola and Bomu Junior in Mombasa. Speaking during the opening ceremony, Dr. Kipsang emphasized the importance of ensuring that the government-funded classrooms are completed on time ahead of the upcoming school term.
Dr. Kipsang called for efficient management and quality construction of the facilities, highlighting that these efforts are crucial for a smooth and successful transition to JSS. The new classrooms are part of the government's ongoing initiative to expand access to quality education under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
"As we move into this new phase of education, it is imperative that we complete the construction projects on schedule to accommodate the increasing number of students joining the Junior Secondary Schools," said Dr. Kipsang.
He urged school management committees to prioritize safety and quality during the construction process, noting that well-built classrooms play a key role in the learning experience for students.
The completion of these classrooms marks a significant milestone in the government's commitment to expanding education infrastructure, ensuring that every student has access to the resources they need for their academic success.
