Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii visited Moi's Bridge town this evening to assess the aftermath of a devastating fire that has left several businesses destroyed.

In a show of solidarity, Governor Bii expressed his deepest sympathies to the hardworking residents affected by the incident, emphasizing the region's commitment to recovery and rebuilding.

Speaking after his visit, Governor Bii assured the residents that swift measures would be taken to prevent further losses and to bolster the town’s capacity for future emergencies. "In light of this tragic event, I have ordered the immediate stationing of a fire engine in Moi's Bridge. This is part of our broader efforts to strengthen emergency services as the town prepares to be elevated to a municipality," he said.

The governor's announcement of the fire engine deployment is part of an ongoing effort to enhance safety in the area, which has seen significant growth.

“I understand the pain and hardship that comes with the loss of livelihood, and I want to assure you that we will stand with you every step of the way,” Governor Bii stated, addressing the residents. “Together, we will restore, rebuild, and safeguard this growing town.”

The fire, which broke out earlier in the week, left many business owners grappling with severe losses. The town of Moi’s Bridge, known for its vibrant local economy, is expected to receive additional support in the form of government aid and long-term recovery programs.

As Moi’s Bridge transitions into a municipality, Governor Bii emphasized the importance of unity and resilience in overcoming the challenges ahead. He reiterated that the county government will remain fully engaged in the recovery process, ensuring that the community has the resources and support it needs to rebuild.

The community's strength and determination were evident, with local leaders and residents already planning for a collective recovery effort. Governor Bii concluded his remarks with a call to action, urging all stakeholders to contribute to the town’s revival and safety.

"Moi’s Bridge will rise stronger," he said, “and together, we will make it a model of resilience and prosperity.”
