The State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs, under the stewardship of Geoffrey Kaituko, welcomed Hon. Ahmed Mohammed Kolosh, the newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), during a courtesy call.
Hon. Kolosh brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in leadership within the public sector. As the immediate former Chair of the Kenya Roads Board and a former Member of Parliament for Wajir West (2017–2022), he has demonstrated his ability to spearhead transformative initiatives and drive development agendas.
Mr. Kaituko expressed his delight in receiving Hon. Kolosh, emphasizing the importance of his leadership in guiding the Kenya Maritime Authority toward achieving its mandate. “Hon. Kolosh is a seasoned leader whose expertise and vast experience will be instrumental in steering KMA to greater heights,” he remarked.
The Kenya Maritime Authority plays a critical role in regulating and developing the maritime industry, and Hon. Kolosh's appointment signals a renewed focus on bolstering its capacity to enhance Kenya’s maritime potential. His extensive background in governance and infrastructure development positions him as the right person to steer the board toward achieving its strategic objectives.
As he takes the helm, all eyes will be on Hon. Kolosh to see how he will leverage his leadership and expertise to drive progress in the maritime sector and contribute to Kenya's economic growth.
