Hon. Esther Passaris Empowers Women Traders with Foldable Trading Tables

In a move aimed at supporting small-scale traders, Hon. Esther Passaris, Woman Representative for Nairobi County, delivered foldable trading tables equipped with shades to vendors in Dagoretti South and Westlands.

The initiative, supported by the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (@NGAAF_KE), seeks to enhance the working conditions for traders by protecting their merchandise—both perishable and non-food items—from harsh weather conditions such as rain and sun.

“These trading tables will not only safeguard goods but also improve the overall customer experience,” said Hon. Passaris. “By providing a more dignified trading environment, we empower our women traders to thrive in their businesses.”

The new tables are expected to create a significant impact, especially for women who make up a majority of the informal trade sector. The initiative reflects Hon. Passaris’s commitment to empowering women and fostering economic growth within Nairobi County.

Her efforts underscore the importance of practical, community-focused interventions that address the everyday challenges faced by small-scale traders while enhancing their ability to sustain their livelihoods.
