Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed profound sorrow at the passing of renowned journalist and writer Rasna Warah, describing her as an “uncompromising, unapologetic, and uniquely fearless voice for justice.” In a statement released today, Musyoka reflected on the indelible impact Warah's writings had on the Kenyan public and beyond.
“Rasna’s words, printed week after week in various publications, were not just ink on paper. They were a clarion call for truth and accountability,” said Musyoka. “Her writings, whether focusing on national issues, human rights, or global injustices, spoke directly to the heart of the matter, challenging us all to confront uncomfortable truths and demand better for our communities.”
Warah was known for her boldness and candidness, often addressing topics that others may shy away from. Musyoka noted that while she may have been a “thorn in the side” of some, she was ultimately a gift to society — open-minded, incisive, and always driven by a sense of justice.
“Rasna was a journalist with a singular ability to break down complex issues and make them accessible to the average reader. She did not shy away from difficult conversations, and she questioned those in power when others remained silent,” said the Wiper leader. “Her writing was an important tool in holding those in authority accountable, and her voice will be deeply missed by those of us who looked to her as a beacon of truth and fairness.”
Musyoka also highlighted Warah's deep commitment to Kenya and her unwavering love for her country, saying, “She was Kenyan to the core, and she used her platform to uplift those whose voices were often drowned out in mainstream discourse.”
In closing, Musyoka offered his condolences to Warah’s family, friends, and colleagues, praying for God’s merciful grace and eternal rest for the celebrated journalist.
“May Rasna Warah’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire generations to come,” Musyoka concluded.
