Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed deep concerns regarding the state of governance under the Kenya Kwanza regime. The revelations by Secretary Muturi about the identity of the so-called "Commander-in-Chief" of the Abduction Squads have raised serious questions about accountability, transparency, and the rule of law in Kenya.
Kalonzo, who has long been a vocal advocate for justice and the protection of human rights, pointed to the troubling situation surrounding the disappearance of the son of the Attorney General, Justin Muturi. The Attorney General, one of the highest-ranking legal officers in the country, has been unable to get answers about the whereabouts of his son, a development that Kalonzo describes as "deeply alarming."
"If the Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya, a senior government official entrusted with the responsibility of upholding the law, cannot get answers about the whereabouts of his own son, who can?" Kalonzo asked in his statement. "This speaks to a broader crisis within the Kenya Kwanza regime—a government that has lost control of critical aspects of its own security apparatus."
The Wiper Party leader further raised questions about the alarming lack of accountability at the highest levels of government. According to Kalonzo, the Attorney General’s desperate attempts to reach key officials, such as the Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), have been met with silence. This, Kalonzo argues, signals a breakdown in the chain of command and a disturbing erosion of trust in institutions meant to serve the people of Kenya.
"How can a citizen trust their government when the Attorney General, the highest legal officer in the land, is left to make calls that go unanswered by junior staff?" Kalonzo asked. "This is not just a failure of leadership; this is a failure of the very systems that are supposed to protect the people of Kenya."
Kalonzo’s statement also pointed to the apparent failure of top-ranking officials within the Ministry of Interior, including then-Cabinet Secretary Professor Kithure Kindiki and Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, to receive truthful information from their juniors. In light of recent investigations and testimonies, the Wiper leader questioned the integrity of government operations under the Kenya Kwanza administration.
"If the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and his Principal Secretary are being misled by their own staff, what does that say about the state of our security services and the direction in which this government is heading?" Kalonzo queried. "It is clear that the Kenya Kwanza regime has lost control of vital functions, and this is putting the safety and security of every Kenyan at risk."
Kalonzo Musyoka emphasized that these revelations point to a larger issue: a government that is increasingly disconnected from the reality on the ground, unable to protect its citizens or maintain order. He called on the government to immediately address the systemic breakdown in security operations, calling for urgent reforms to restore accountability within Kenya’s intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
As Kenya continues to face mounting challenges, Kalonzo Musyoka’s statement is a call to action for the government to confront these issues head-on and restore public trust. "The people of Kenya deserve better," Kalonzo concluded. "They deserve a government that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice for all."
The ongoing situation has left many Kenyans questioning the integrity of the Kenya Kwanza administration, and Kalonzo’s remarks only add to the growing public concern. As the country grapples with the fallout from these revelations, all eyes are on the government’s response and whether it will take meaningful steps to address the issues raised by the Wiper Party leader.
