The Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB) is making strides in fostering digital inclusion through its ongoing Digital Training program in Mandera County. As part of the Digital Access Program, the initiative focuses on equipping blind and low-vision residents with essential digital skills, enabling them to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.

This transformative training, funded by the UK government and implemented in collaboration with the Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet), represents a significant step toward building a more inclusive digital future. Participants are gaining hands-on experience with assistive technologies while exploring online opportunities that empower them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

"Technology has the power to break barriers and open doors for individuals with visual impairments. This program demonstrates how inclusive digital training can transform lives and create equal opportunities," said Mr. Samson Waweru, Director of the Kenya Society for the Blind.

The training sessions have been tailored to address the unique needs of the participants, showcasing the potential of assistive technologies to enhance their productivity and independence. By bridging the digital divide, the initiative is not only empowering individuals but also promoting social and economic inclusion within the community.

This program highlights the importance of partnerships in advancing digital inclusion. Through the support of the UK government and collaboration with KICTANet, KSB continues to champion the cause of accessibility, demonstrating that everyone deserves an opportunity to participate fully in the digital age.

The ongoing success of the Mandera training underscores the critical role of technology in transforming lives and fostering inclusivity.
