Kenya's Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife Advances National Tourism Strategy 2025-2030

The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife in Kenya is making significant strides in the development of the National Tourism Strategy 2025-2030, aimed at shaping the future of the country's tourism sector. The strategy will outline how Kenya's tourism industry should be developed, managed, marketed, and regulated to enhance its growth and sustainability.

Acknowledging the crucial role of partnerships, the Ministry has received technical support from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in the strategy's formulation process. The initiative is a highly consultative one, involving collaboration between the National and County Governments, as well as key private sector stakeholders.

During a recent briefing, the technical committee and UNECA representative, Dr. Manyara, expressed their commitment to supporting the Ministry in finalizing the strategy by May 2025. The strategy aligns with Kenya's Medium-Term Plan IV and the broader BETA (Big Four) Agenda, reflecting the government's dedication to promoting economic growth through tourism.

A key highlight of the strategy will be the inclusion of youth as pivotal agents of innovation and development in the sector. The Ministry is committed to ensuring that young people play an integral role in shaping the tourism landscape, contributing to its long-term sustainability.

The National Tourism Strategy 2025-2030 is set to play a transformative role in boosting Kenya's tourism industry, creating more jobs, fostering innovation, and ensuring sustainable growth in the sector for years to come.
