KEWOPA Celebrates Launch of IPF’s Macro Fiscal Analytical Snapshot 2025 for Kenya

The Kenya Women Parliamentarians Association (KEWOPA) proudly participated in the launch of the International Policy Fellowship (IPF) Global’s flagship publication, the Macro Fiscal Analytical Snapshot 2025 for Kenya. The comprehensive report aims to foster informed public discourse on the nation’s economy and promote the efficient use of public resources.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Beatrice Elachi, KEWOPA’s Deputy Chair, highlighted the crucial role of gender-responsive budgeting in ensuring that government policies and resources address the needs of all citizens. She emphasized the need for the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) to implement measures that promote positive health outcomes for all Kenyans, particularly women and vulnerable groups.

“We must prioritize gender-responsive budgeting to ensure equitable resource distribution. The SHIF holds great potential to improve health outcomes, and it is vital that we put the necessary frameworks in place,” said Hon. Elachi.

KEWOPA commended IPF for its commitment to evidence-based research and its ongoing efforts to enhance public finance management systems at both the national and county levels. The Macro Fiscal Analytical Snapshot 2025 provides crucial insights into Kenya’s economic outlook and helps shape policies aimed at improving the overall financial landscape.

The launch event also underscored the importance of inclusive governance, with particular attention to the role of women in political decision-making and economic management.

KEWOPA reiterated its commitment to advocating for policies that promote gender equality and support sustainable development.
