A working breakfast meeting was held today between the Organizing Committee for the Nyanza International Investment Conference and the leadership of key professional groups in Kenya. The meeting aimed to align expectations and discuss preparations ahead of the upcoming conference.
The session brought together representatives from various professional associations, including Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK), and the Kenya Medical Association (KMA).
Among the prominent leaders in attendance were LSK President Faith Odhiambo, AAK President Florence Nyole, IEK Chairman Shammah Kitemi, IQSK Chairman Mutinda Mutuku, and Dr. Joseph Aluoch, who represented the Kenya Medical Association.
The Nyanza International Investment Conference Organizing Committee was led by Chairman Japh Olende, with Vice Chairman Michael Monari and Amb. Grace Okara. Other committee members included Lawyers Lilian Mahiri Zaja and Dr. Amos Omollo, Dr. Anyango Ochieng, Gabriel Chacha, and Ken.
Speaking after the meeting, Chairman Japh Olende emphasized the importance of collaboration with professional groups in ensuring the success of the conference, which is expected to attract international investors and business leaders. “Our engagement with the leadership of professional organizations is critical in creating a platform that promotes collaboration and fosters investment in Nyanza and Kenya as a whole,” Olende said.
The conference, scheduled for later this year, aims to showcase investment opportunities in the Nyanza region, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, architecture, and engineering, with the goal of driving sustainable economic growth and job creation.
Professional groups expressed their commitment to supporting the conference, highlighting the potential impact it could have on the region’s development. “We are eager to contribute our expertise and ensure that the discussions during the conference address the needs of our respective sectors while advancing the economic goals of the region,” said Faith Odhiambo, President of LSK.
