Maseno School Tops Nyanza in 2024 KCSE, Eyes Regional Academic Leadership

Maseno School has solidified its status as a leading academic powerhouse in Nyanza and Kenya, emerging at the top in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. The institution recorded an impressive mean grade of 9.7286 (B+), with 669 out of 678 students (98.67%) attaining direct university entry qualifications.


The school’s exemplary performance featured 36 students scoring grade A, 161 A-, 226 B+, and 149 B. Notably, there were no failures recorded, as all students performed exceptionally well across the board.


In an interview with Vipasho news, Chief Principal Peter Owino expressed pride in the school's achievements, attributing the success to the dedication of the teaching staff, students’ discipline, and the support of parents. “We are determined to ensure Maseno National School maintains its top academic and co-curricular standing not only in Kenya but across the East African region,” he stated.


Principal Owino further revealed plans to enhance the school’s academic and sports benchmarking initiatives in East Africa, with the aim of promoting excellence and regional collaboration.


The school’s consistent university transition rates have cemented its reputation, with 2024 achieving 98.67%, building on the impressive records of 97.71% in 2023 and 97.64% in 2022.
