Mois Bridge Leaders Unite to Support Fire Disaster Victims

In a powerful display of unity, local leaders and the community came together to offer support to those affected by the recent fire disaster that destroyed several businesses in Mois Bridge Municipality. The event, which saw the involvement of various leaders and stakeholders, aimed to raise funds to help restore the livelihoods of the victims.

Among the leaders present were Hon. Governor  Jonatha Bii, Hon. Isaac Tamogei (Soy Ward), Hon. Peter Wanjoi (Huruma Ward), Hon. Gorety Kipsomba (Kipsomba Ward), Bishop David Njogu (Chairman of the Pastors Fellowship), Bishop Benson Wamalwa, Rev. Suge, Mr. Mohamed, Chiefs, OCS Mois Bridge, and other opinion leaders, all of whom expressed solidarity with the affected individuals.

The Governor assured the residents that the County Government is committed to helping those who have lost their businesses and livelihoods due to the devastating fire. “We will provide the necessary resources and support to help our people rebuild their businesses. Additionally, we will station a fire engine at Mois Bridge Municipality to enhance emergency preparedness and prevent such disasters in the future,” the Governor stated.

As part of the recovery effort, the County Government, alongside local leaders, is organizing a major fundraising event on Day 2 of February 2025. This event will provide an opportunity for the community to come together and raise the necessary funds for the victims of the fire disaster. The leaders urged all residents to participate, emphasizing that this initiative transcends politics and is a collective effort to support those in need.

Mois Bridge Ward MCA, Patrick Kimeli, who was present at the gathering, called on the community to put aside political differences and focus on the urgent task of rebuilding the affected businesses. “This is not a time for political division or name-calling. It is a time for all of us to stand together, irrespective of our political affiliations, and support the people of Mois Bridge. Our people need us now more than ever,” said MCA Kimeli.

The local leaders assured the community that they are working tirelessly to ensure that funds are sourced and distributed effectively to help the affected individuals recover and restore their businesses. Residents have been encouraged to participate in the upcoming fundraiser and contribute in any way they can to ensure the success of the initiative.

As Mois Bridge continues to heal and rebuild, the collective spirit of the leaders and the people promises a brighter future for the municipality. Together, they will overcome this disaster and ensure the well-being of all those affected.
