The Member of Parliament for Malava Constituency, the Hon. Malulu Ijendi, is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi, battling for his life. According to a statement released late Monday evening by former UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala, Ijendi is undergoing dialysis and receiving round-the-clock medical attention.
As of 11:02 PM, Malala confirmed that the MP is still alive and responding to treatment, despite his critical condition. "We are with his family at the hospital, and as of 23:02hrs, our brother is still alive, fighting for his life," Malala said.
Supporters and well-wishers have been urged to ignore circulating rumors regarding Ijendi's health and to focus on supporting his recovery. Malala reassured the public that the medical team is providing the best care, and the family remains hopeful.
"We continue to trust in God’s grace and mercy as we stand by him and his family during this difficult time," Malala added.
Ijendi’s condition has drawn widespread attention from political leaders and residents of Malava, many of whom have sent messages of encouragement. Local and national leaders have also expressed solidarity with the family, praying for his swift recovery.
The MP's family has requested privacy during this time, asking for continued prayers as Ijendi fights to regain his health.
