Ndindi Nyoro Launches Kiharu Masomo Bora 2025 Programme

The Kiharu Masomo Bora 2025 Programme was officially launched today at Mugoiri Mixed Day Secondary School, marking a historic step in revolutionizing education for over 10,000 learners in the Kiharu constituency. The event, graced by distinguished guests such as Ms. Nancy Njau, CEO of Family Bank, Mr. Shaka Kariuki, Chairman of Kuramo Capital, Dr. Purity Ngina, CEO of the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC), and other notable leaders, was a key milestone in Kiharu’s educational development.

Kiharu Member of Parliament, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, expressed his commitment to uplifting education standards and accessibility in the constituency, stating that the programme would transform the learning experience for all students in Day Secondary Schools in Kiharu, irrespective of their backgrounds. The programme is designed to ensure that all learners, including those from outside Kiharu, benefit from a holistic and affordable educational experience.

Key Highlights of the Kiharu Masomo Bora 2025 Programme Include:

School fees for all learners in Day Secondary Schools will be capped at Ksh 1,000 per term, making education more accessible to all families.

A significant fund will be allocated for infrastructure improvements in all Day Secondary Schools, with a focus on upgrading laboratories and computer labs to meet modern learning standards.

Revision books will be provided to all learners, ensuring that they have the necessary resources to excel in their studies.

Uji and lunch will be provided for six days a week, with a special Chapati Lunch on the last Friday of every month, ensuring that students are well-nourished and ready to learn.

Schools that offer remedial or extra tuition will have their fees capped at Ksh 1,000, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to improve their academic performance.

Annual prize-giving ceremonies in the two sub-counties will be fully funded to celebrate academic achievements and motivate students and staff alike.

Motivational trips to Dubai will be awarded to the best and most improved principals from each ward, while teachers of the best-improved subjects will be rewarded with trips to Mombasa.

The programme will cover all learners in Day Secondary Schools within Kiharu, including those who are not from the constituency, ensuring that every student has access to quality education.

Additional allocations will be made to boost the activity budget, enhancing the quality of extracurricular activities for students.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Nyoro thanked the parents, students, and stakeholders in the education sector, particularly the County Director of Education, Madam Ann, for their unwavering support in making the programme a reality. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring that education remains a key driver of growth and development in Kiharu.

The launch was attended by several members of the County Assembly, including Hon. John Kamwaga, Hon. Wa Kang'ata, Hon. Machigo, Hon. Gathee Wa Njeri, Hon. Esther, Hon. Wachiku, and Hon. Gladys, who all expressed their commitment to supporting the programme in any way they can.

"This is just the beginning," Hon. Nyoro concluded. "We are African, and Africa is our business. By investing in our children, we are securing the future of our continent."
