Netherlands Ambassador to Kenya visits MTRH

 



The Ambassador for the Kingdom of Netherlands to Kenya H.E. Henk Jan Bakker today, 21st January 2025, visited Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) to appreciate projects undertaken under a bilateral arrangement.


One of the institutions that has partnered with MTRH for the past fifteen years is Princess Maxima Centre in Amsterdam, which has built the expertise of MTRH's  Doctors in Peadiatric Oncology.


Other cadres that have benefited from Princess Maxima include oncology nurses.


MTRH Chief Executive  Officer Dr. Philip Kirwa, who received the guests, said the training  programs align well with the Hospital's True North and Mission to lead in quality service delivery in all spheres of modern medicine. 


Dr. Kirwa also acknowledged the contractual engagements existing with Philips - a Dutch company that has supplied high-end diagnostic medical equipment over time, with the latest being the newly  commissioned 1.5 Tesla MRI.


The CEO thanked the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health for supporting MTRH in performing its strategic role as a National Teaching and Referral Hospital.


The envoy and his entourage were taken on a guided tour of several projects and services across the Hospital including; Renal Unit, Data Centre, Hemato-Oncology,  Radiology & Imaging, and Shoe4Africa Children’s Hospital.
