In a heartening display of community spirit, parents and local businessmen gathered at West Market in Eldoret to celebrate the outstanding achievements of students in the recently concluded KCSE exams. The event, which brought together families, educators, and local business leaders, was a vibrant celebration of academic success and community support.
Among the star students celebrated was John Kimani Kirumba, a top performer from St. Joseph’s Kitale, who earned an impressive A in his KCSE exams. His parents, Peter and Esther Kirumba, expressed immense pride in their son's achievement. "We thank God for this success," Peter said, his voice filled with gratitude. "This is not just his success but a reflection of the hard work and prayers we’ve invested as a family."
Esther, his mother, added, "We expected him to do well, but this result exceeded our expectations. We are grateful to the teachers who supported him and to the community for always encouraging him."
The Kirumba family wasn’t alone in their joy. Samuel Kimani Kirumba, John’s older brother, who completed his KCSE at St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale, also received praise for his strong performance, scoring a B minus. Samuel, who hopes to pursue a career in law, reflected on the close-knit environment the brothers created as they studied together. “We supported each other throughout the process,” Samuel said. “Our parents were always involved, ensuring we stayed on track and focused.”
The celebrations extended beyond the Kirumba family, as business owners from Eldoret’s West Market also joined in the festivities. They lauded the students’ hard work and recognized the importance of education in shaping the future of the community. Thomas Orodi, a local businessman, expressed his pride in the students' achievements, stating, "We are proud of these bright young minds. Education is the key to success, and we, as businesspeople, are committed to supporting them as they continue to chase their dreams."
