President Ruto Mourns the Passing of Prof. Bethwell Ogot

 




 President William Ruto has expressed his deep sorrow following the death of renowned historian and scholar, Professor Bethwell Ogot, whose passing marks the end of a distinguished life dedicated to selfless service, inspired leadership, and committed professionalism.

In a statement, President Ruto described Prof. Ogot as a giant in the field of scholarship, whose contributions to history, academia, and the nation will be remembered for generations. “With his passing, the curtain has fallen on a long and illustrious life of selfless service, inspired leadership, and committed professionalism,” said President Ruto.

Prof. Ogot, a distinguished historian, was known for his peerless academic rigor. His scholarly work was instrumental in reshaping the intellectual landscape of Kenya and the African continent, particularly in challenging the lasting impact of Euro-centric ideologies.
