The Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Rebecca Miano EGH, has reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to prioritizing cultural immersion as a key offering in Kenya's tourism portfolio. Speaking on the importance of culture in shaping the tourism agenda, Miano emphasized that Kenya seeks to showcase its rich cultural diversity to attract global visitors. She noted that this strategic approach aligns with efforts to diversify tourism products and expand Kenya's reach to key international markets, including China.

"At the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, we regard culture as one of the most critical elements in our endeavors. We have prioritized cultural immersion as one of the key offerings Kenya will showcase to tourists as we seek to further diversify our tourism products. China remains one of our great tourism target markets," she stated.

Miano shared these sentiments during her participation in the Henan Spring Festival celebration, hosted by the Chinese community in Kenya. The event, graced by Excellency Madam Guo Haiyan, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Kenya, celebrated the time-honored tradition of the Chinese people. The Henan Spring Festival is a cultural cornerstone for the Chinese, inspiring individuals globally to preserve their heritage.

The festival featured remarkable cultural performances, showcasing the vibrancy and richness of Chinese traditions. Miano expressed her delight in seeing Kenyan students actively engaging with and embracing Chinese culture during the event. She commended this cultural fusion, noting its potential to foster deeper mutual understanding and collaboration between the two nations.

"Attending this celebration was a wonderful experience, not only because of the incredible performances but also because it was heartwarming to see our local students immersed in the rich Chinese culture," Miano remarked.

The Cabinet Secretary's remarks underscore the Ministry's focus on leveraging cultural exchanges to strengthen ties with international partners while positioning Kenya as a global cultural tourism hub.
