This morning, members of the Settlement Executive Committee (SEC) from the KK, Segero, and Kasarani settlements, along with their area MCA, Hon. Francis Muya, met with the KISIP County Coordinator Ms. NellyJerotich, GA Consultants, and contractor ASAL Frontiers to receive an update on the progress of the ongoing Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Programme projects (KISIP2).

The lead consultant, Eng. Silas Aluora, assured the stakeholders that all provisions in the contract would be strictly followed to ensure the delivery of quality work. The construction of the roads is set to meet high standards, with careful attention to detail.

"We ask that you remain interested and involved in the progress of this project," Eng. Silas Aluora emphasized. "You are our eyes on the ground, and it's vital that any issues or concerns surrounding the project be communicated to us promptly."

Regarding the progress of the roads in the three settlements:

KK settlement road construction of a 0.38 km tarmac road is ongoing, this will be accompanied by a complete drainage, walkways, and security lights.

Segero is seeing a 0.97 km road under construction, with the sub-base layer already in place. Excavations have been made for side drains, and work will proceed with the installation of walkways and streetlights once drainage works are completed.

Kasarani is set to receive a 0.8 km road, also including drainage, walkways, and streetlights.

Hon. Francis Muya confirmed that the project has also had a positive impact on local employment, with youth from the community working on-site and witnessing the transformation of their area.

County Programme Coordinator Ms. Nelly Jerotich encouraged the SEC to ensure that any grievances were raised through the proper channels for timely resolution. She also assured the stakeholders that the contractor is adhering to the project schedule, and the works are expected to be completed before the start of the new financial year in June 2025.
