Uasin Gishu County is set to benefit from national government support as the Departments of Sports and Public Works finalize reports for several major development projects. The projects, which include key infrastructure in sports, trade, and health sectors, will be co-financed by the national government following a request from Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii to President Dr. William Ruto.
Approximately two weeks ago, Governor Bii successfully presented a proposal to President Ruto, seeking national assistance for the financing and completion of several significant projects in the county. These projects include the Ziwa Level 5 Hospital, Kesses Level 4 Hospital, Turbo Level 4 Hospital, the MoiSoy Maize Milling Plant, and the Chagaiya High Altitude Training Camp.
In preparation for the partnership, Chief Officers Mark Some (Youth and Sports) and Abraham Kiptalam (Public Works) co-chaired a crucial meeting on Tuesday with engineers and directors to finalize the necessary documentation. The meeting focused on detailing the progress of each project, assessing the status of ongoing structural works, estimating expected expenses, and outlining other relevant project details.
The two Chief Officers have been tasked with overseeing the preparation of the necessary reports, ensuring all records are in order ahead of the national government’s official involvement. These reports will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth handover and continued progress on the projects.
This collaboration between Uasin Gishu County and the national government is expected to significantly boost the region’s infrastructure and public services, benefiting residents across multiple sectors.
