Member of Parliament for Bahati Constituency, Mrembo Irene Njoki, today visited the Affordable Housing Project in Bahati Ward, where 220 homes are nearing completion. During her visit, the public had the opportunity to see firsthand the progress of the initiative and engage with the dedicated team working to bring this crucial project to life.
Njoki highlighted the importance of the affordable housing initiative in addressing the housing needs of local families. "These projects are more than just about providing homes—they are a catalyst for economic growth. By creating jobs, employing skilled labor, and supporting local businesses, we are strengthening our community’s economy," said the MP.
The Affordable Housing Project is a key component of the national government's effort to provide quality, affordable housing for all Kenyans. The first phase of the Bahati Ward project is set to deliver 220 homes, with the second phase promising even greater progress. "In the second phase, over 1,000 more homes will be constructed right here in Bahati Constituency," Njoki announced, emphasizing the growing impact of the initiative on the local community.
To make these homes accessible to more people, Njoki encouraged residents to apply for the affordable housing scheme. "To apply, simply register on the Boma Yangu portal at www.bomayangu.go.ke or dial *832#. Completing your profile and submitting the required details is easy, and a minimum saving of KSH 200 is needed to activate your account," she explained.
The Bahati Affordable Housing Project is expected to continue playing a key role in enhancing the quality of life for local residents, while contributing to the national goal of providing 500,000 affordable homes across the country.
With more homes on the horizon and a strong focus on community development, this initiative is set to provide lasting benefits to Bahati and its residents.
