A high-level meeting of the Council of Governors (CoG) Executive and Liaison, Management, and Business Committee is underway in Naivasha, bringing together county leaders to deliberate on key governance and devolution matters.
Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, a key voice in devolution matters, is among the governors attending the forum, which is themed “Fostering Collaborative Leadership and Synergy for Transformative Governance and Devolution.”
The meeting seeks to enhance governance structures, improve intergovernmental relations, and boost service delivery across the 47 counties.
Governor Lusaka, known for his advocacy for strengthened county autonomy and improved resource allocation, is expected to contribute to discussions on financial accountability, strategic partnerships, and policy coordination.
The forum also aims to explore innovative solutions to challenges facing counties, including delayed disbursements and funding gaps that have hampered service delivery.
With governors keen on fostering a more efficient and responsive devolved system, the meeting is expected to yield resolutions that will shape the next phase of devolution in Kenya.
