The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Renson Ingonga, CBS, OGW, has underscored the significance of strategic and coordinated efforts in the fight against human trafficking and other forms of transnational organized crime. In a statement, Ingonga highlighted the severe threats posed by these crimes and stressed the need for a unified approach to address them effectively.
Speaking at a recent cross-border workshop, Ingonga commended the level of collaboration among participants, noting that it reflects the strategic direction outlined in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP)’s Strategic Plan for 2023-2027. The plan emphasizes the importance of interagency collaboration and cooperation in tackling the growing problem of human trafficking and the smuggling of persons.
“The level of coordination demonstrated here is a testament to the commitment of various stakeholders to tackle these heinous crimes,” Ingonga said. “By working together, we can strengthen our collective efforts to protect vulnerable individuals and dismantle criminal networks.”
