Energy Principal Secretary Alex Wachira, alongside Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi and CEOs from the Ministry of Energy, participated in a crucial meeting with the Departmental Committee on Energy. The session, chaired by Hon. (Eng) Vincent Musyoka, Member of Parliament for Mwala Constituency, focused on presenting and defending the Budget Policy Statement (BPS) for the 2024/2025 financial year.
The discussions centered on ensuring effective budget absorption for FY 2024/25, with a particular emphasis on securing the necessary resources for ongoing and upcoming projects in the energy sector. The PS and the Ministry’s leadership highlighted the importance of securing sufficient funding to successfully implement projects before the close of the financial year.
“The key objective is to ensure that our ongoing and planned projects within the Energy Sector are well-funded, effectively managed, and completed on time,” said PS Wachira during the meeting.
The meeting allowed for a detailed exchange on the resource requirements for the remaining period of the fiscal year, emphasizing the sector’s commitment to meeting national energy demands and advancing sustainable energy solutions.
The budget discussion is a critical step in ensuring that the energy sector remains well-funded and continues its progress toward achieving the government’s energy goals, which are vital for economic growth and development.
