The countdown is on for the much-anticipated 2025 Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show Eldoret National Branch, set to run from March 5th to 8th, 2025. With exhibitors from across the agricultural, manufacturing, small and medium enterprises, and hospitality sectors working tirelessly to prepare their stands, the event promises to be a spectacular showcase of innovation and technology in agriculture.
Susan Seron, Chairperson of the ASK Eldoret National Branch, has called on farmers to attend in large numbers to gain insights into new farming methods and technologies. "This year, we have over 200 exhibitors from various sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and hospitality," said Seron. "They will be displaying cutting-edge technologies and innovations that are crucial for driving sustainability across industries."
The event will not only feature local exhibitors but also showcase contributions from neighboring countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, with each country presenting its unique advancements in agriculture and related industries.
A media spot check at the showground revealed that farmers, especially those interested in livestock, frequently visit the stands where animal actioning takes place, dispelling the misconception that the ASK Show is primarily a children's event. "This show offers a wealth of knowledge for farmers, especially in livestock management, and we expect strong attendance at these sections," Seron added.
Seron further emphasized that this year's theme, "Promoting Innovation and Technology in Smart Agriculture," aligns with the current challenges facing the agricultural sector, especially in light of global warming. The show is set to offer valuable lessons on how technology can mitigate these challenges and enhance sustainable farming practices.
"We are also excited to welcome new exhibitors, including representatives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the National Legal Services," said Seron.
The event will be officially opened by President William Ruto on March 7th, while while the Kesses MP CPA Julius Ruto accompanied by Dr. Erick Ruto, President of the Chamber, will grace the occasion on the first day. Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii who is the Countys patron will grace the occasion on the second day.
With over 80,000 visitors and exhibitors expected to attend, Seron assured the public that the event would be an invaluable opportunity for farmers and industry professionals to network, learn, and explore new technologies that will help them thrive in the changing agricultural landscape.
