A devastating fire ravaged two timber yards in Rock Centre, Eldoret City, on Sunday evening, leaving behind extensive damage. The blaze, which occurred opposite Shell along the Eldoret-Iten Highway, completely destroyed both yards, reducing timber stock and equipment to ashes.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing plumes of smoke rising from the affected area as the fire spread rapidly. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but by the time they arrived, the flames had already consumed much of the timber and other materials stored at the yards. Firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby businesses and homes.
